Dr. Aiello has been saying for YEARS that most women wear the wrong bra size. When and how often should you get an MRI after a Silicone Gel Breast Augmentation? The FDA allowed Silicone breast implants back on the market November 17, 2006. They have recommended that you get an MRI at least 3 years post op and every 2 years after that. We want to know, what are your thoughts and feelings on this?

Newport Beach Liposuction at Lunch!!!
Well let me start by asking how long is your lunch????
Even if your lunch is an hour, it’s not realistic to think you are going to go to your plastic surgeon have him numb and liposuction your abdomen and return to work ready to complete your day with a smile on your face. The reality is that liposuction of the abdomen can be done under an I.V. sedation and it will probably take about one hour. The unrealistic part is that you are then going to go back to work ready to complete your work day with a smile on your face..

This is a fairly simple procedure with minimal possibility of complications. That being said you will still need someone to drive you home. You will have to wear some type of a binder or girdle for about three weeks. The thought of having this done without some type of sedation is something I would not want to go through. I would rather take the afternoon off, have some sedation allowing my doctor concentrate on the surgery at hand instead of worrying that I am moving around and in pain and anxious.

Employs dual wavelength lasers 1064 nm and 1319 nm for better fat lipolysis and skin tightening effects. Approved by the FDA for laser assisted lipolysis.
Slimlipo
Dual lasers 924nm and 975nm for optimal fat and dermal tissue lasering.
SmartLipo Triplex
3 lasers: 1440 nm, 1064 nm, 1320 nm, claims superior energy levels with higher energy level of absorption by fat cells and better coagulation and skin tightening giving high definition sculpting capabilities.
Smooth Lipo
Uses 980 nm to heat only fat
Thermage CPT
This is a non invasive radio frequency technology used to deliver heat to the skin, thereby stimulating tightening while producing Comfort Pulse Technology (CPT) energy delivery system with a vibrating hand piece. This is cleared by the FDA for temporary improvement in appearance of cellulite when combined with vibrations and non invasive treatment of wrinkles on the face.
Ultra Smooth Lipo
Lipo dissolve using phosphatidylcholine (PCDC) known as lecithin injected into lipodystrophic areas which hardens and then dissolves the fat in about 1 month. Ex: 2 areas x 5 treatments = $1700.00
Ultrashape
Uses ultrasound to breakdown fat cells
Ultherapy
Uses ultrasound to thermally stimulate the body’s rejuvenating mechanisms by delivering 30 minutes of controlled energy ultrasound to the skin of the face. Claims to cause a “firmer, tighter skin…overall refreshed appearance as well”
VelaShape
ELOS combination of Bipolar Radio frequency (RF), infrared light energy plus vacuum and mechanical massage. This modality I believed to deliver heat energy to the fatty tissues thereby increasing their metabolism lymphatic drainage and reducing and shrinking the actual size of the fat cells. Claims will reduce cellulite appearance and circumferential reduction with reshaping of treated area painless and no down time.
Zeltiq
Patented cryolipoysis process using precisely controlled cooling to remove fat by selectively killing adipose cells and leaving skin and muscle unharmed. This non invasive cooling device is not cleared by the US FDA for lipolysis! It is cleared by the FDA for skin cooling during dermatologic treatments

Liposuction Specialist Orange County
Liposuction, Liposculpture, lipoplasty, suction assisted liposuction (SAL), power assisted liposuction (PAL), ultrasonic assisted liposuction (UAL), laser assisted liposuction (LAL), water jet assisted liposuction (WAL), laser sculpture lipolysis, Smart Lipo Triplem ™, ProLipo Plus ™, Accusculpt ™, Slimlipo™, Cool Lipo™,Smooth Lipo ™, Lipotherme™, Lipolite™.

Since the early 1980s fat removal by physically aspirating out the unwanted fat cells has become the number one cosmetic procedure. With the evolution of suction assisted lipectomy or SAL; also know commonly as liposuction, lipoplasty or liposcultpure has arisen the birth of the other appellatives such as PAL, UAL, LAL, WAL, superwet, tumescent liposuction etc. Then with the recent rage of laser assisted liposuction devices, a slew of competing technologies with their catchy names has moved to the forefront of various TV shows and ad campaigns.
With all this hype and claims of having the latest, greatest, super technology to obliterate these millions of unwanted fat cells, its no wonder the consumer is thoroughly confused at what fact is and what is the naked truth?
To start this report will be broken up into discussing what each of these technologies has to offer. Later we’ll discuss the specific modalities and finally the non invasive treatments of fat lipoysis which by themselves is also quite plentiful and equally confusing to the public.
From the onset it should be noted that nearly all claims by the companies producing the various equipment are essentially the same.
In most cases they start off comparing themselves to standard SAL. All claim to be better than this “gold standard”. In fact they go so far as to say that their technology can either treat areas or achieve results not capable by SAL. This is generally not true. Certain modalities may make it easier to treat certain area but one must understand that all the invasive system despite their touting smaller incisions, less pain, less swelling, less down time, faster recovery, faster surgery, better definition and shaping, need for only local anesthesia all have in common the need to insert a cannula (tube) of various diameter underneath the skin. This cannula then will either mechanically break up the fat cells, use laser light or ultrasound to emulsify them or vibrating power or water jet to damage them. One way or another these cannula pass back and forth through the fatty tissue and fibrous tissue to destroy the fat, In many cases you still need an aspiration to remove the dead debris from under the skin… that is they often need dome type of suction assisted lipectomy SAL device attached to their “magic wand” or put in afterward. You can cook a chicken by deep frying, boiling, microwave or baking. IN the end it is cooked! How you choose to do this to get you what you feel is the optimum result is dependant on your familiarity with the techniques employed for each. Ultimately it comes down to only one thing…the skill experience and qualification of the surgeon and not the gadget he is using, which primarily designed to make it easier for him to move the cannula through the tissues with the hope that he will therefore do a better contouring job for the patient. If he is not skilled and doesn’t understand what it will take to get a good result or even understand what a good result is, then no amount of technology or type of “magic wand” will achieve this for him.
In reviewing the various products available it is clear their marketing strategy to get you to find a surgeon is to use key terms that impart certain desirable emotions. These are as follows:
1. Gentler procedure for the tissues
2. More defined contouring
3. Painless procedure
4. Local anesthesia
5. Your are in control and awake
6. Return to activities 1-2 days, shorter downtime
7. Little or no bruising or swelling and minimal side effects
8. Final results come quicker and are superior
9. Cost effective because even if it is more expensive, you returning to work earlier is worth it.
10. Safer, especially if done under local
11. Treat areas difficult for conventional liposuction to do
12. Minimally invasive
Does these terms mean as compared to SAL or as compared to PAL, UAL, WAL, or the half dozen different LALs? These terms are so convincing that they have even convinced some of the surgeons using them that since the technology makes it easier to pass the cannula through the tissues that they don’t need to do as much work wither, so they take out less than they should have because they have their “magic wand” which should impart a better result. There is no substitute for a great Surgeon! Lipo Lipo Lipo everywhere…what is the naked truth?
