Sex After Plastic Surgery
August 5th, 2010One of the first things that most patients want to know, but are afraid to ask, “When can I have sex?” The answer is going to vary, depending on your procedure and your healing process. Just like exercise, sexual activities increases heart rate. This raises your blood pressure, causing your blood to flow more intensely, which can increase swelling and cause bleeding (Hematoma). Safe guidelines are:
Breast Augmentation: 2 weeks
Lipo: 2 weeks
Abdominoplasty ( Tummy Tuck ): 3 weeks
Labiaplasty: 2 weeks
Just like with any other surgical procedure, follow common sense and your post op instructions. Keep your incision site clean and covered. Do not expose them to bacteria that can be found in bodily fluids. Remember your body is still healing, so please be gentle with it.
