Dr. Aiello is looking for patients that may be filmed by the E! Channel for Extreme Dr. 90210. What we are looking for is someone who needs plastic or reconstructive surgery for something that may be a unique type of surgical case with an interesting story.

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. William Aiello

Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. William Aiello

What we are not looking for is a person who feels they need a typical nose job, breast enlargement, tummy tuck, etcetera type of procedure. Nor are we looking for someone with an unfortunate personal history who feels a common plastic surgery procedure will improve their self esteem or life.

We will need a short explanation of your problem and health status with attached digital photos. Our office will evaluate these, and we may contact you of the final decision. As to whether or not you will be considered depends on your health status, surgical problem, personal history, and finally if the producers decide it is something they want to put on television.

Please do not call our office to just check the status. For those of you who are interested in pursuing surgical correction or cosmetic surgery, you may call for a complimentary consultation with Dr. Aiello. We may contact you regardless of any selection process to see if we can assist you in achieving your goals of self improvement. Thank you for your interest.

Please send all information and photos to info@oceanplasticsurgery.com

Pulmonary Embolism: Model in Argentina died from a reported Pulmonary Embolism

December 1st, 2009

Orange County Pulmonary EmbolismRecently a model in Argentina died from a reported Pulmonary Embolism (PE) after cosmetic glutealplasty (buttocks enlargement). This is a very rare, serious and even life threatening condition. It happens when a blood clot or fat travels through the blood stream and either partially or completely obstructs the pulmonary vessel that goes to the lungs. This rare complication is seen more in patients who have suffered deep trauma injuries or been immobile for a long period of time. This can also occur during a long surgery. One of the things that can be done to help prevent this complication is to use sequential stockings during surgery. These stockings continually massage the calves and therefore keep the blood moving. Having the patient wear special elastic stockings for about five days after surgery also helps to prevent this complication. Also early ambulation after surgery is recommended to move the blood around and prevent stagnation in the legs whereby leading to clots.

If you are planning on having any large liposuction, abdominoplasty or lower body lift ask your doctor if these precautions will be used. This is a rare complication and it should not discourage you from surgery but preventive measure and precaution is wise.
